Partridge Grey Painted Oak Kitchen
& Silestone Blanco Maple Worktops
The challenge in this project in Finmere (Oxforshire/Buckinghamsire borders) was working with a room that used to be an old cowshed. Imagine all the angles and irregularities in the walls! Our client had a long kitchen with little natural light, and asked us to split the room into a separate utility and kitchen space. We used the outside stone wall in the new utility room to construct cold larder storage too.
The kitchen was fitted with Painted Oak units in Partridge Grey, and our client chose Silestone blanco maple worktops with matching upstands. Space, and a desire to retain the character of the irregular walls, precluded us from fitting wall mounted units. Instead, we repurposed the worktops from the old kitchen to create bespoke oak floating shelves. To optimise the light in the kitchen we fitted recessed LED lighting under the shelves, wired to a wall switch. We’re very proud of these!
A Neff slide & hide oven and combination oven, Quooker boiling water tap, wine fridge and Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher were installed, and the Neff induction hob was fitted with a downdraft extractor. To finish, we crafted and installed a wooden stable door between the kitchen and the living area.
